China: Burning Bicycle Left in Middle of Road After Rider Escapes in Chongqing

On April 3, 2026, in Chongqing, videos captured a man cycling steadily along a city street when the rear part of his bicycle unexpectedly caught fire. The rider appeared startled and immediately reacted by jumping off the bicycle to avoid injury. As the fire intensified within seconds, he moved away from the burning vehicle.

China: Elderly Cyclist Knocked Unconscious by Falling Tree Branch in Hunan

A video from December 4, 2025, in Hunan, China, shows a 70-year-old man being struck by a falling tree branch while riding a bicycle. The branch snapped from a roadside tree, knocking him unconscious and sending him to the pavement. His family said he later underwent two major surgeries and is now in stable condition. They also raised concerns about whether the decayed tree had been properly maintained by local authorities.

China: People Work Together To Rescue Man Trapped Under Vehicle In Changsha, Hunan

A collision between a car and an electric bicycle happened near the intersection of Xiangya Road and Huangxing North Road in Changsha, Hunan on May 21. A man was trapped underneath a white vehicle after the accident. The video shows people working altogether to lift the car up so that others could pull the injured man out. According to reports, the man was sent to the hospital and currently is in stable condition.

Orix lefty Maekawa arrested in hit-and-run accident in Osaka

OSAKA, Japan - Orix Buffaloes left-handed pitcher Katsuhiko Maekawa (in file photo) was arrested on Jan. 7 on suspicion of involvement in a hit-and-run accident in Osaka the previous day while driving a car without a license, Police said the car driven by Maekawa, 28, hit a woman on a bicycle at a crossing in the city's Chuo Ward at around 2 p.m. on Jan. 6.
